Gen AI Code Spark 2026 is a national-level student competition designed to develop problem-solving, logical thinking, creativity, and applied AI skills among school students. The competition emphasizes real-world usefulness, encouraging students to build simple but practical applications rather than abstract coding tasks.

08 to 11
Builders Quest 2026, organized by Gen AI – Future Ready AI Academy, is an exciting all-island coding competition designed especially for students aged 8–11 who are ready to turn their creativity into interactive digital solutions. This competition challenges young learners to build practical and meaningful Scratch applications for the given theme, focusing on logic, user interaction, and structured thinking. Builders Quest is not just about coding — it is about problem-solving, creativity, and building tools that can actually be used in school life.
- Workshop: March 29th, 4.30pm - 6.30pm
- Preliminary (Online): April 5th, 8.30am - 10.30am
- Final (Physical): April 19th, 12.30pm - 2.30pm
Round 1 : Online Preliminary Round
Duration: 2 Hours
Platform: Scratch
Participants must build a functional Scratch application that includes:
- Buttons for navigation
- User input handling
- Variables and logical conditions
- A clear and usable interface
Top performers from this round will qualify for the finals.
Round 2 – On-Site Finals
Duration: 2 Hours
Location: SLIIT International
Finalists will receive the challenge on the day of the event and must:
- Build a working, theme-related application
- Demonstrate logical structure
- Present their solution briefly to the judges
Only company-provided laptops may be used.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to students aged 8–11 years from any school in Sri Lanka.
- Each team must consist of 1-3 members.
Competition Rules
- Maximum team member count is 3.
- You cannot add members to the group mid competition.
- Internet access is restricted during the competition.
- Use of external help (chatbots, pre-built projects, external code) is strictly prohibited.
- Plagiarism or unethical behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
- Judges’ decisions are final and non-negotiable.
- Top 3 teams will receive cash prizes and certificates.
- Finalists will receive finalist certificates.
- All preliminary participants will receive e-certificates.

This competition challenges young innovators to create a real-world Image Classification model using Google Teachable Machine, focusing on practical problem-solving, structured thinking, and responsible AI use. Innovators Quest is not just about training a model — it is about identifying meaningful problems and building AI systems that can create real impact.

- Collect and organize image data
- Train and test their classifier
- Improve model accuracy
- Demonstrate a working prototype
- Present their solution to the judges
